Chapter 8.3: The Cardiac Cycle

The heart plays an important role in the transport of blood as it allows the flow of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood through it. In this video, I explain the cardiac cycle and how the heartbeat is controlled. I highlight the importance of the sinoatrial node (also known as the pacemaker) and the different valves within the heart that ensure blood flows into the right compartments and vessels.
