We made this bed that looks like a Jeep for my grandson, Owen. This was a daddy daughter project that turned out great. For the project we bought:
Two sheets of 3/4 inch maple or birch plywood for the sides and wheels
One sheet of 1/2 inch MDF for the front, back and grill.
Three 2x4" for the axles and fenders
Scraps were used for the slats that hold up the mattress.

We made some changes like lifting it off the floor and changing the layout of the fenders but for the most part she was our inspiration.
