Chimaera
"Chimaera" is a video dance piece assembled around two characters from Greek mythology, Pan and Psyque, portraying the satyr and nymph as stereotypes of sexuality in a choreographed operatic film. These characters narrate the conflict between genders using a dreamlike language and describe in a psychological level the tension between masculinity and emasculation, to show the annulment of gender and even a gender exchange, to finally establish the death of sexuality, and create an Eros and Thanatos articulation. This articulation is described as a chimera in which nothing is what it seems. Finally, the atmosphere of a 1920's theater which was destroyed by a fire, takes a crucial part to create a contrast with the performers, while at the same time surround them in a womblike structure, becoming a third character in the story.
