This is very likely the last hike of 2025 for us. On this trip we did the Chimney Rock Trail near Ponca, AR. Since we had a few others joining us we were able to do a shuttle from the low water bridge to the Center Point trail head (the Chimney Rock Trail is a spur trail off the Center Point Trail). In total it was a six mile hike. This trail doesn't get a lot of hikers, but we did run into one. The trail is mostly an old trace road that run across the top of Cliff Hollow. It is rocky in most places and it's easy to twist your ankle. While I would call it an easy trail, this trail is tiring since you spend so much energy maintaining your balance. Plus, once you get on the Old River Trail going back to the parking area it is nothing but sand for over a mile. Hiking on sand is no fun.
