This song grew out of a simple but powerful thought:
we don’t choose where our story begins—
but love is something we learn to choose every day.
While reflecting on it, I came across a beautiful line in the Bible,
John 15:16, where Christ says:
“You did not choose me, but I chose you.”
It made me pause—and smile.
Maybe being told “you didn’t choose”
isn’t always a bad thing after all.
Across many traditions, there’s a shared idea:
that love often finds us first,
and only later do we learn how to return it.
This song lives in that space—
between being chosen…
and choosing to love in return.
