Chris Bongiovanni | Payback

Chris Bongiovanni is shown here from footage of the 1997 Jan Tana Classic, where she won, taking 1st prize. This was retribution, having won her class in 3 previous shows but the overall crown eluding her each time. But this time she'd have to do it against her biggest rival Valerie Gangi, one she'd never beaten before. The two duked it out at the 1995 USA Championships, each winning their class, but Valerie, as the Middleweight, would defeat Heavyweight Chris for the overall crown. These two faced off against each other many times. Valerie Gangi seemingly had Chris' number several times, not just beating her out head to head once before, but when Chris rounded out the top 10 at the Ms Olympia, Valerie did her one better by rounding out the top 5. But this time was different as Chris brought something altogether special, her fiberous twitchy muscles were well described in written accounts of the event.
