The Germantown Fire Department has a new fire engine officially in service. Designed to carry up to six firefighters, the engine meets and exceeds current NFPA and ISO standards and is fully equipped to handle fire suppression and medical emergencies, including Advanced Life Support care. Features include a 750-gallon water tank, a 1,500-gallon-per-minute pump, a direct-inject foam system and the department’s updated white-over-red color scheme with enhanced reflective striping. The $915,000 investment strengthens fleet reliability by allowing an older engine to be retired while another is reassigned as a reserve unit.
