There are interesting phenomena in the time evolution of a circular wave in a circular box when the wave is off-centered. The wavefront have breaks, and the number of these breaks is increasing over time as the wave bounces wall-to-wall. The intensity is not uniform along the wavefront, at the breaks it's even diverges. If the wave is dispersive these high intensity areas form longer and longer sharp edges. In the quantum regime interference also happens.
