Thiagarajan). It is a simulation of a simple card game, where different players are instructed with different sets of rules without being aware of these differences. Quickly misunderstandings arise. The method can be used to explore the role our assumptions play in our understanding of the world around us, especially when we face new environments and how we deal with uncertainty and change for example in an intercultural exchange situation. “Five tricks” is part of our category on “simulation exercises and role plays”, more specifically it is an intercultural simulation exercise. Differently from roles plays, where participants are given specific roles to enact, in simulation exercises participants are actually invited to be precisely themselves, but in a new simulated context. ►Support material for implementing the method: Training Session Outline: https://bit.ly/YTtsoFT Description of "Barnga" by author S. In the frame of YouTrain, we produced a set of 5 introductory videos on important aspects and considerations in non-formal education, a set of 15 video tutorials on specific methods in non-formal education, and a manual on how to produce video-tutorials by yourself. ►The project unites four organisations Coobra – cooperativa braccianti (Austria): http://www.coobra.at/ Ha Moment (Portugal): http://hamoment.org/ Euromove (the Netherlands): http://www.euro-move.org/ International Youth Work Trainers Guild (Germany/Europe wide): http://iywt.org/ ►Funding YouTrain is co-funded by ERASMUS+ programme of the European Union. More specifically, through the Austrian National Agency for ERASMUS+ under the “ERASMUS+ Key Action 2 - strategic partnership in the field of education, training and youth” granting scheme: https://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/ ►Disclaimer This method can be known under a different name, and it may be adapted to specific needs and environments. The earliest sources for this method we have found indicate Sivasailam “Thiagi” Thiagarajan as author of "Barnga".
