Classic Mini Diff Rebuild FAIL… £300 Mistake! 😭
In this video, I take on the job of rebuilding the differential on my Classic Mini gearbox… and what should have been a straightforward refresh turns into an absolute nightmare 😬 We start by stripping and rebuilding the diff with new planet gears, thrust washers, bearings, and a competition diff pin – keeping things mostly standard but future-proofing for increased power. Everything is going smoothly… until disaster strikes. 💥 A bolt suddenly loses torque… 💥 Threads rip clean out of the diff cage… 💥 And what should’ve been a simple rebuild turns into a full-blown rebuild AGAIN. After sourcing a replacement cage (huge thanks to Paul Jefferies 🙌), things go from bad… to worse… with bearing fit issues forcing a rethink.
