This video reviews the features of the two major types of glaciers - ice sheets and alpine glaciers. We explain the conditions necessary for the formation of glaciers and describe the features of both ice sheets (massive, thick contain very old ice, form in polar regions) and alpine glaciers (smaller, younger ice, found in mountains).
