I spent an hour or so earlier today helping a customer with open loop solenoid control. I use both open and closed loop solenoid control, but it seems to be an unknown concept for many. I thought I would take the opportunity to cover the subject.
There are so many different ways to skin this cat. I use IR gates and Hall Effect Sensors. I suppose you could use limit switches too. It doesn't matter too much - it's the concept I'm trying to demonstrate here.
