This is the full length version of my tutorial of how to create a coarse edge for toughness and cutting coarser, grittier mediums. This type of edge is not what you see often, as most will go up to a 1000+ grit stone for a refined apex. This how to long form video will give you a good idea of how to achieve this type of edge. The knife sharpened is a @winklerkniveshq belt knife with 80crv2 blade steel and a black oxide blade coating for extra corrosion reisistance. I used a sharpal 220/600 dual sided stone, of course only using the 220 grit side. I also utilized a kdtu hybrid bonded diamond stone by @NeevesKnives to help remove my burr. You can simply use a strop as well, but the idea is to raise your angle by a degree so you hit the apex and remove remaining burr., thus not replacing your 220 grit scratch pattern. Enjoy and stay tuned for more videos this year!
