Codex CLI AI Update + Ansible, AWS IoT Core, Python BACnet GPIO Sensor Readings
This video continues the Codex CLI agentic AI experiment: can AI build a full Building Automation System (BAS) from an agentic AI software engineering specification? Things are moving a bit slowly, but stay tuned! In Vibe Code App 12, we now have the Boss Pi back in action reading a digital temperature sensor through the Raspberry Pi GPIO. The Python application samples the sensor readings every 2 seconds, updates the BACpypes3 BACnet server API, and simultaneously sends the data securely to AWS IoT Core over MQTT. So far, the setup is successfully working with the AWS IoT MQTT test client. We also get into Ansible concepts, AWS IoT Core integration, and tying together Python BACnet codebases with real-world IoT workflows. Next steps: - Continue following the progress of Vibe Code App 11 and the Codex AI BAS experiment - Research how to store the sensor data in a database - Build charts and dashboards for the live sensor readings - Potentially integrate Grafana on AWS for visualization and monitoring Can AI actually help build a BAS from a specification? Let’s keep experimenting.
