I love working with the coffee experts at Barista Hustle. They challenged me to use my Open Analyzer at https://www.stevenabbott.co.uk/Open-Analyzer/Analyzer.php to work out the CO2 emissions for brewing a cup of coffee. This shows the app which brings to life the data provided by Bernard Killian, Lloyd Rivera, Melissa Soto3 and David Navichoc, Carbon Footprint across the Coffee Supply Chain: The Case of Costa Rican Coffee,J. Agri. Sci. Tech. B 3 (2013) 151-170. You might be surprised that the biggest CO2 emissions, by far come not from processing the crop, shipping it, roasting, packaging or grinding it, but from heating the water to make the coffee.
A follow-up, more technical, video shows how to create your own model to run in Open Analyzer
