In the Cosmere death isn't always the end! Most major planets have some form of these ghostly phenomena. Mistborn, The Way of Kings, Warbreaker, and more all have these cognitive entities called cognitive shadows and they're super weird. Specifically, my old foe Shades are a prominent example of this phenomena.
