I’ve seen millions of ways to rig the red hot coikes. But if you know me, you know I love a good line-thru method! Here’s my original line-thru rigging for the coike to help preserve your coike, give you more leverage when battling a fish, and allow you to swap weights and change the sink rate instantly! This is super easy to do. You probably already have everything you need to rig is like this. All it takes is a split ring, dropshot weights, some mono, and a hook of your choice!
*Note: If you don’t want to risk the dropshot weight falling off and losing your coike, instead of tying an overhand knot/drop shot weight on the bottom, you can also tie a clip to the bottom and clip weights on and off. That’s another method I’ve done. Most of the time, it puts weight further from the bait but it doesn’t change the action too much. Or as I mentioned in the video, a little drop of superglue on the split ring side of the hole goes a long way in securing the coike! A bobber stop/peg on the weight side will also work! There’s plenty of ways to secure your coike!
