Representatives from the U.S. EPA and the state of South Carolina provided information on how to effectively coordinate Underground Storage Tank (UST) and Brownfields Programs to successfully address abandoned UST sites. Eligible UST sites, including lower priority abandoned LUST sites, located in states and in tribal lands can be assessed, cleaned up, revitalized, and returned to their communities for redevelopment using Brownfields Program resources. These resources include Targeted Brownfields Assessment (TBA) resources, 128(a) grants, and 104(k) grants. Specific examples of successful collaboration were presented and discussed.
