E3 Digital documents the artists, artifacts, and ideas shaping art on Bitcoin. In this Collection Notes episode, I discuss adding a piece from Billy Restey’s “Supercycle” edition to the E3 Digital Vault. I came across Billy’s work on March 8, 2026 — the same day Magic Eden was scheduled to shut down. What began as a quick look through his work turned into an immediate connection with “Supercycle,” a recursive animated edition built from Bitcoin-native inscriptions. Within roughly 30 minutes, I had gone from discovering the work to acquiring one of the 69 editions. In this video, I reflect on: - discovering Billy Restey’s work organically, - intuition and collecting, - recursion and symbolism in “Supercycle,” - Bitcoin-native art and permanence, - and what makes certain works immediately resonate. “Supercycle” combines recursive HTML animation, Bitcoin-native imagery, and on-chain references into a piece that feels both archival and alive — a compressed map of crypto-native culture and symbolism. E3 Digital is a curatorial practice documenting art, artists, and artifacts inscribed on Bitcoin.
