College Math Lesson 6.7 - Exponential Functions

Objective: At the end of this lesson, students will be able to model an exponential function using an equation, a table, and a graph. Vocabulary: Exponential Function – General Formula for an Exponential Function Example: The 2010 census found a U.S. population of about 309 million, with an estimated growth rate of 0.9% per year. Write an equation for the U.S. population that assumes exponential growth at this rate. Create a table showing the U.S. population every ten years until 2060. Then make a graph of the exponential function.
