Colour Modulation Part 1: Airbrushing Basecoats
Colour modulation is a painting style that AFV Modeller magazine described as "the new drybrushing". I don't think it's quite that big a revolution in modelling, but it is certainly a very eye pleasing and vibrant way to paint. I don't think it is a very realistic way to finish models but given it's popularity recently I thought I should give it some coverage on my channel. I apologise if this video seems a little rushed - the 10 minute limit youtube imposes has made it very difficult to get so much information into one clip. In the next video I will paint the turret and try to cover any points I might have missed. A QUICK NOTE TO CLARIFY: Guys, I don't make any claim whatsoever to have invented this this style of painting !! The guy responsible for bringing all the different influences together and giving it a name is Adam Wilder. Anyone who's been around in modelling for a while has probably heard of the guy and I assumed most of you would know, however I have had a few responses to the contrary so I've had to add this.
