Common hysterectomy mistake!

Your assistant hand is just as important as the hand throwing the needle! 🪡🧵 Be aware of the trajectory of your curved needle around the clamp. Use the curve to your advantage. When you place your needle, push the needle in straight at first and it will nicely curve around the tip of the clamp. If your Z clamp is tilted off to the side, your needle will often times hit the clamp which will not allow you to throw your stitch. Then you have to remove the needle, making multiple pokes with the needlepoint, potentially causing damage. Does this make sense?! It’s easier to see things sometimes when you’re not in the OR and different angles!
