Comparative Measuring (part I)
In this lesson I am using my pencil as a measuring tool to construct a vase. The main difference between the sight-size method and comparative measuring, is that, with comparative measuring, the objects can be drawn in a different scale than they appear. This, to me is a bit more practical, as one can adjust the size of the drawing to fit the format of their paper. I have used both methods, (videos of my sight-size technique can be found on my channel) and both present their own unique challenges and advantages. For more info on my drawing technique, or to enroll in classes, check out the links below. Also, stay tuned to see the second lesson on this drawing.
