Complete Factory Animation

2002 - 2D animation. For this project, I was to make an interactive animation (640x480 pixels) showing a new way to build this innovative vehicle. I had worked with the head of “Forward Engineering” on a detailed presentation of the design of the vehicle, which was to be built using aluminium extrusions for the frame and reinforced plastic for the outer panels. I now had to produce an interactive animation of the complete factory and present this to the management team of the OEM-automotive manufacturer. I had worked for many years producing documentation illustrations for every department within “Planning, Body Assembly”, so I already had a large accumulation of suitable illustrations in my data-bank and a lot of detailed knowledge of the assembly processes. Using mainly existing illustrations produced for the engineering manager, it was possible to produce this animation, including the brand new factory layout within four weeks (including much liaison and correction). This video shows just a small portion of the complete animation. The head of “Forward Engineering” was very helpful to me on this presentation.
