Compression Roll Exercise
The purpose of this drill is to slow down forward rolls and explore how to compress the body into as tight of a ball as possible while rolling. The roll starts and ends crouched low to the ground, hands and feet beneath the center, and the roll is executed as if one is "rolling under a table". The benefits of this exercise include cultivation of mindful movement during ukemi, and the smoothing out of "bumps and corners" in rolls. The ASU Aikido Chuseikan of Tampa Bay dojo is affiliated with the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba and Aikido World Headquarters, and provides quality adult and family martial arts instruction in Tampa, Florida. http://tampaaikido.com http://tampaaikido.com/facebook Copyright © 2016, All rights reserved.
