Compton Effect: an interaction of a photon with an electron when the incident photon has enough energy to ionize the electron and scatters out with some non-zero energy. In this case, the energy of the incident photon is split between the scattered photon and electron.
Problem: If the maximum energy given to an electron during the Compton effect is 30 KeV, what is the wavelength of the incident photon?
