Concepts used when Fitting Curves to Data

The slide show in this video was used during a talk presented to the UKSAF Winter 2022 meeting at Bristol University. Within this talk concepts central to fitting physically meaningful shapes to data are discussed. A method for examining sets of spectra and how spectral shapes can be derived from data is explained at an introductory level. An application of the technique to data gathered from MoO3 film on silicon is used to demonstrate how such an approach can help when attempting to understand XPS of materials which evolve in chemical state.
