CONCRETE Light Bulb. It LIGHTS UP!

I will show how YOU CAN MAKE one CONCRETE LIGHT BULB. Interior designs with concrete walls and cement objects are one of the most popular designs in the last years. Although they look rough, they can add an elegant touch in every interior style. Used with moderation, everyone will love it. You can find in the Internet a lot of cool projects made with cement, or concrete, that you can make at home. One of the most popular are the concrete lamps. Technically speaking, it is a mortar light bulb since I use a premade mixture of sand and cements. One of my last projects was a Do It Yourself Light Bulb Aquarium. You can see this How to in my Youtube channel. My interest in concrete objects and the experience obtained in my last project made me think if it would be possible to make a concrete light bulb that truly produce bright light. In fact, it is possible, it is easy end it is awesome! After some research, I have found that there is in the Internet no documentation for a project like this. So, I documented my project, so everybody could recreate it and, hopefully, improve-it. Step 1: Gather the Materials and Tools Here are some of the items you will need for your making your cement light bulb: Halogen Lamp with an E27 screw base (examples Osram halogen classic A or Philips E27 Edison Screw Halogen EcoClassic): Fine grit wet and dry sand sheet for wet sanding; Water; Mortar for masonry (a mix of Portland Cement and sand); Pliers; Plastic spoon and a funnel to put the concrete mix into the lightbulb; A toothbrush to clean the small bulb; Gloves, face mask and safety glasses; A plastic container; Step 2: Make a small hole in the lateral side of the light bulb. Put your wet and dry sand sheet in the plastic container. Put a little of clean water in the plastic container. Start to sand the light bulb. Make gentle movements. Do not apply much pressure otherwise you will break the exterior glass of the light bulb. From time to time check the progression of the work. We want to make a hole of the size of the bottom end of the funnel. In my case, the diameter of the hole is about 10 millimeters. Step 3: Prepare the mortar mix Mortar is a mixture of sand and cements that is most often used to build brick or block walls. For this project, I only needed to add water. Read the instructions on the bag of your mortar mix. They will tell you the correct ratio of water to mortar mix. I have just added water until I feel it was fluid enough to flow through the funnel. Step 4: Half filling the light bulb The next step is partially filling the light bulb with the mortar. Using the funnel, I have introduced the mortar filling half of the light bulb. Immediately after, I clean the surface of the interior bulb with a cotton swab. Watch carefully the result of this operation. I have waited one week to assure that the complete cure of the cement takes place. After, I have removed the glass of the light bulb with a pair of pliers. Watch how the exterior surface is smooth and shining. With a small brush or an old a toothbrush, we can clean the interior glass bulb. As you will see later It gives a very high shine when cured.
