A Digital Image Correlation Movie generated for a rectangular tensile coupon specimen of High Volume Fly Ash ECC. The specimen in the movie is loaded along the horizontal axis. The tensile stress in MPa and corresponding overall tensile strain (across the gage) in % are shown on the bottom left corner. The specimen gage length: along horizontal axis in the movie is about 100 mm. The specimen width: along vertical axis in the movie is 3 inches. The specimen depth is 0.5 inch. The average crack width at tensile peak loading is less than 40 microns with more than 100 cracks forming in the field of view of the movie visible as a smeared damage (saturated cracking). The test was performed at 0.5 mm/min. The pictures for DIC were taken at regular intervals of 5 seconds, so each second in the movie represents about 40 micron displacement in the horizontal direction. The strain color contour along the horizontal (loading) direction is shown on the right.
