This is February's song for the original song a month album (will title that in the future!) and this one is different because it wasn't intended for the album. But I think this song fits well with how I think the album will turn out. I also will be having to work hard on The Iron Oath this month so it will be nice to not feel pressure to add to this instead. I wrote this about two weeks ago when I auditioned for a game called "Manifold Garden" (which I've used an image from) and tried to think of something based off of the artists they wanted to sound like (as well as an idea I had along with my own sound). I worked off the imagery and trailers and thought about the use of patterns in music as well as the art in this game and came up with something where there were different rhythms and phrases that built together to form a unique piece of music (Maiden Astraea does a similar thing with her song). I also wanted to show a range of dynamics based on requirements specified throughout the song (honestly it's tough to apply for a composition job because you have to try and imagine where the game might go whilst hoping to cater to the needs of the creator which could change based on time or even inspiration, so in this case I thought showing that range might be important). Unfortunately I won't know if this piece would have made any impact because so many people applied for the job that they probably aren't going to hear it now. I was hesitant about being selected because the sound just might not be right (it was kind of a gamble) and I thought the song might possibly sound too organic but it's very hard to know what may happen. And so the song at least has a place on this album and I'm happy with that.
