The Control Voltage Processor, as the name suggests, excels at routing, mixing, scaling and cross-fading various control voltage sources. In this video, we explore a more advanced approach to the module yet simple enough to suit a performance like environment.
In this patch, we send the "ref" output and a single gate output from the Voltage Multistage into the "signal selector a" row of the Sequence Selector, which is then "advanced" by a single gate pulse from the Voltage Multistage.
The output of "signal row a" was then sent into "input 3" of the Control Voltage Processor while another single gate pulse from the Voltage Multistage was sent to "input4" which, allowed for cross fading between the two signals. The Control Voltage Processors output was then sent to the "width" of the Harmonic Oscillator's Scanning section which, when manual manipulation of the controls was applied, gave a more "human" like feel to the control voltage settings - a perfect setting to call in the Roland 606 for percussive support.
