This video illustrates a control101 toolbox resource which is a simple interface to understand and investigate how the core parameters within an MPC law affect the decision making and performance and more specifically. Critically it shows that with some systems, tuning can be quite challenging and many choices lead to very poor or even unstable closed-loop performance.
