Cooke Anamorphic Lens Test

A short lens test on Cooke Anamorphic/i 2x S35 lenses. This test should give a reasonably holistic, but not exhaustive idea of how the lenses perform in a variety of scenarios, with an honest view of how the lenses will tackle a number of different setups. This set neatly covers Open Gate on S35 Alexa cameras with no hard vignetting (if cropped to a 2.39), and while large, are still nimble enough for most operators to be able to work handheld. Notably highly resolving and very high in contrast, you'll notice fairly consistent performance through the range with a pretty gentle focus falloff and bokeh rendering that can move from the sorta truncated ovular shape something like a C series might have, to a more proper oval when stopped down.
