Copy or Duplicate Layer Masks in GIMP
In this GIMP Basics tutorial, I show you how to copy layer masks from one layer onto another - or essentially duplicate your layer masks in a composition. I also show you the very basics of adding a layer mask to an image, as well as how to save a layer mask to use on another layer at a later time. I briefly explain how selections relative to layer masks work, and touch upon layer group masks. This is a great way to easily remove the background from an image and to cut out the shape of your model in other layers (like a gradient or pattern layer). I use GIMP 2.10.20 for this tutorial. 0:00 - Intro 1:06 - Adding A Layer Mask 3:05 - Copying Layer Mask to Another Layer 4:14 - Saving a Layer Mask 5:43 - Explaining Gradient Layer Masks 7:52 - Final Thoughts Visit our website for more text and video tutorials: https://www.daviesmediadesign.com/tutorials/ Enroll in Our GIMP Photo Editing Masterclass: https://www.udemy.com/course/gimp-photo-editing/?couponCode=FINALGIMPSUMMERSALE Get My New E-book - The GIMP Book of Layers: https://daviesmediadesign.com/gimp-book-of-layers/ Want to make your GIMP theme look like mine?
