Labial bow is widely used in Orthodontic Appliance fabrication. It cab be either active (for space closure) or passive (as a retainer). Active labial bow is positioned at the junction of incisal and middle thirds. It is made in lighter wires(23 gauge). Passive labial bow is fabricated in 21/22 gauge. it is used for retainers and not for force application. By giving an arch form to wire, labial bow can be made quickly. Happy learning.
