Progress on the virtual workspace! I have no idea why the video is so yellow. I blame f.lux, even though I had it turned off. Wait no, it was intentional, I swear. I'm trying to copy Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Yeah, that's it! I was having a hard time with anchors and stuff, since for the anchors I was trying to do were giving me trouble due to local/world space issues. I came up with a new, and honestly better solution. Users how have a personal bubble to which they can attach entire windows/controls to. Using spherical to world coordinate conversion, you can drag these windows along your personal bubble, putting them wherever you please. They'll even auto-face you! In theory if I had shoulder/body tracking, your personal bubble could follow you around the world, allowing you to take your workspace with you. I didn't wind up exploring the finger/hand filtering avenue yet. After doing some digging, I realized that I could fix some of my issues with the leap motion by covering my desk in black acrylic paint. Comes up dark black on the IR cam. If you're having issues with your leap motion, you might wanna do the same thing. Next up on the list is dragging objects in the world that aren't locked into your personal bubble. Then I want to add the virtual keyboard. It might be tough without haptic feedback. Room decorating eventually. What features would you want to see in your own personal VR workspace? Let me know and I'll probably add it!
