The counselling technique of reframing involves inviting clients to consider alternate lenses on client lived experiences. Sometimes these lenses are offered up by the counselling but often they emerge from the client's story. Reframing involves paying attention to these lenses and exploring them for the purpose of opening the door to helpful or healing perspectives, understanding client lived experiences more fully, and finding alternative ways of perceiving those experiences.
