Coupling Numerical - Cast Iron Flange Coupling

Design a Rigid Flange Coupling to transmit a Torque of 260 Nm between two co-axial shafts. The shafts are made of Alloy Steel. Flanges are are made of Cast Iron. Four bolts are used for coupling. The permissible stresses are given as under; Shear Stress on Shaft = 102 MPa Crushing Stress on Shaft = 204 MPa Crushing Stress on Key = 204 MPa Shear Stress on Key = 102 MPa Shear Stress on Cast Iron = 204 MPa Shear Stress on Bolts = 102 MPa
