In which I talk about the inspiration and background of the game. Before we get into the process of development and production topics in later Devlogs. I've been playing and seeing a lot of Arc Raiders and the art and craft of that game has given me a lot of inspiration visually and I know it uses a lot of Houdini (which we will discuss in later devlogs). I don't much care for combat based gameplay anymore myself, but the worldbuilding of Arc definitely inspires me. As a solo indie developer obviously its beyond the scope of what I'm trying to do, but I want to capture at least a little of that aesthetic for my own game using similar methods and tools.
