CPA Exam Evolution: How Will the Changes Effect You?

More CPA changes are coming in 2024. By now you may have heard of CPA Evolution. The AICPA and NASBA announced that the formatting for the CPA exam will go from the 4 parts FAR, REG, AUD, and BEC to the core plus discipline model. The new format will focus on the core sections FAR, REG, and AUD and then candidates will have the option to choose one additional discipline to focus on. Tax planning and compliance, business analysis, or information technology will be the three areas that candidates will be able to select from. These changes will only impact you if you do not complete the entire exam by Dec 31, 2023. There is a hard stop after that and exceptions will not be made.
