The SD40-2Fs were built by GM in 1988 for CP using the full carbody with the Draper Taper used on CN's SD50Fs and SD60Fs. They were nicknamed "Red Barns"
Retirement began in 2012 with most if not all retired by 2015. Some have been sold to CM&Q.
They are seen in operation in various parts of Western Canada between 1991 and 2011.
