CPS WebTips: Working with Solution Data in Automate Evolve

Solution data is helpful when requirements demand that users review data from other requests that have been submitted. - Solution data can be used in many scenarios when data must be shared across different solutions. Once data has been inserted into a library from a request, that request’s data set is now available for other requests to reference. - Solution data can also be used for sharing data between requests of the same solution, such as cases where requests should not be launched for similar sets of data. This approach to storing request data emulates what was available in Foundation with promoted fields in a requests SharePoint process list. - Although the functionality is similar, it requires setup of a separate library, where in Foundation and SharePoint the library is automatically created upon deployment of the solution. - Adding and maintaining data in a library is no longer automatically done when tasks are submitted. Because of this, workflow plugins which insert and update solution data need to be strategically placed throughout the workflow.
