Developers often forget to add security in D365. After developing a new form, report, or batch job in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, you need to create Menu Items so a user can see and run the new functionality. And those Menu Items need to be added to new or existing Security objects, in order for those Menu Items to be visible. #Dynamics365 #Dynamics365Musings #MSDyn365 #MSDyn365Community #DYN365O #D365FO #Microsoft #d365ug #xppgroupies #D365 #Security #SecurityDiagnostics #SecurityConfiguration #MenuItem #ApplicationExplorer https://dynamics365musings.com/add-security-in-d365/ Subscribe to my channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGH-qYVwp2AtQlOFFA3aDnA Related Blog: https://dynamics365musings.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/peter-ramer/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/peter_ramer Table of Contents: 00:00 - Intro 00:08 - Create Security In D365 02:02 - Create A Project 02:45 - Set Model 03:12 - An Example 03:27 - Two Approaches 04:22 - Start with Menu Items 04:43 - Create Privileges 05:54 - Add Entry Points 06:28 - Set Access Level 07:28 - Create View Priviledge 08:31 - Set Label and Description 09:25 - Create A Duty 10:52 - Create A Role 12:42 - Recap 13:19 - Assign Role To Users 13:47 - Summary 14:49 - Outro
