This tutorial video will explain how to create a welding procedure specification (WPS) from a PQR for ASME IX. A WPS is a document that contains the welding parameters and instructions intended to provide directions to welders for making sound welds as per the code requirements. To write a WPS in WeldTrace, you start with a pWPS and create one or more PQR records from it. Once you have the PQRs approved, you can automatically create one or more WPS from a PQR. This video shows how WeldTrace transfers the data from a PQR to the WPS template automatically. Depending on the code rules, the WPS template will restrict you from making changes to certain fields whereas others will have to be within the PQR's range qualified values. Code rules for essential, supplementary essential and non-essential variables will be intelligently applied. WeldTrace makes it easy to create a code-compliant welding procedure specification.
