Creative Challenge 2022: Nullagine (Nullagine River Song)

Nullagine Primary School 1-5 August 2022 Artists Mal Webb and Kylie Morrigan travelled out to Nullagine Primary School onto the lands of the Nyiyaparli People to explore storytelling, songwriting and music with the children. The junior class at the school collaborated, used classroom poetry, and class discussions to write a song about the Nullagine River, an important landmark in their community. Creative Challenge is AWESOME Arts’ core education program that embeds contemporary teaching artists in schools across the state. The residency program aims to build pride in community and explore self-expression through project management and creative learning skills. This residency was supported by Healthway with the Go for 2&5 healthy eating message.
