The Cresta was manufactured in East Germany sometime in the 1960s
by Veritas of Wittenberge, it was then badged & imported into Britain by
Cresta of Wolverhampton, fitted with an Acadex electric motor + foot
pedal and housed in a plastic base and carry case.
The Cresta originally came in three possible variants: straight stitch,
zigzag or automatic, the machine shown is the simple straight stitch only
variant and as such two of the control buttons on the face are not
connected to anything!
The Cresta can do adjustable straight stitch and reverse, additionally the
feed dogs can be lowered to facilitate embroidery and darning.
