Dancing With a Memory
New song using my lyrics and Suno for the music and voice, made from my prompts and edits. Lyrics: It was late one night, I was working there, Alone with my thoughts and a customer. Me and that old man, or so I believed, But something else lingered I couldn’t see. An old country waltz on the jukebox played, And something in him just slipped away. His eyes went distant, back in time, Lost in the music and the rhyme. In the glow of that jukebox light, I saw love come back to life. A shadow stood where none should stand, But he held her like she’d never leave. Was it real or just his mind? A heart still lost in another time… All I know is what I see— He was dancing with a memory. Slowly he moved out on the floor, Like he’d walked that path before. I watched him sway, soft and slow, With someone there I couldn’t know. She was young with flowing hair, A ghost of love just standing there. They turned like time had never gone, Like she’d been with him all along. In the glow of that jukebox light, I saw love come back to life. A shadow stood where none should stand, But he held her like she’d never leave. Was it real or just his mind? A heart still lost in another time… All I know is what I see— He was dancing with a memory. They say time takes everything away, But some things never really fade. If love can live past flesh and bone, Maybe we’re never truly alone… And in that moment I could see, What forever’s meant to be… Who’s to say what’s wrong or right, When love walks in from the other side? In the glow of that jukebox light, I saw love refuse to die. A shadow stood where none should stand, But he held her like she’d never leave. Call it truth or memory, It felt like more than make-believe… All I know is what I see— He was dancing with a memory…
