Danika joins the 1700 couch to chat about her brand new single 'Coolshit Bullshit' also to tell us about her exciting plans for her upcoming tour around the East Coast and regional parts of Victoria! A finalist in Triple J’s 2011 Unearthed High competition, Danika cemented a confidence in herself to pursue music as both a passion and a cathartic outlet that could be shared with others. With otherworldly vocals, candid lyrics and a hypnotic fingerpicking style, Danika and her trio deliver an immersive live performance, rich in harmonies and groove. Her alternative folk song writing may bring to mind artists such as Cat Power, Aldous Harding or Julia Jacklin, but the inflections of soul and jazz separate her from these contemporaries.
