Daodejing Part One
LYRICS: The Way that can be walked is not the Way that stays, The name that can be named will fade in passing days. Nameless, it gives birth to earth and sky so wide, Named, it becomes the Mother, where all things abide. Step through the silence, let the longing cease, Only in stillness will you find the peace. Where mystery deepens, truth will start to rise— The gate to all wonders lies behind the eyes. Without desire, we see the hidden whole, With craving hearts, we only glimpse the role. These two are one, though named in different ways, Emerging from the dark into the light of days. Step through the silence, let the longing cease, Only in stillness will you find the peace. Where mystery deepens, truth will start to rise— The gate to all wonders lies behind the eyes. From one great source, all opposites arise, A subtle dance beneath the open skies. Call it the Mystery—silent, soft, and true, The door to all marvels waits inside of you. Step through the silence, let the longing cease, Only in stillness will you find the peace. Where mystery deepens, truth will start to rise— The gate to all wonders lies behind the eyes. DAODEJING PART ONE: The Dao that can be trodden is not the enduring and unchanging Dao. The name that can be named is not the enduring and unchanging name, having no name, it is the Originator of heaven and earth, having a name, it is the Mother of all things. Always without desire we must be found, If its deep mystery we would sound; But if desire always within us be, Its outer fringe is all that we shall see. Under these two aspects, it is really the same; but as development takes place, it receives the different names. Together we call them the Mystery. Where the Mystery is the deepest is the gate of all, that is subtle and wonderful.
