Access control is only the first layer of security in a data platform. Even when a user can access a warehouse or database, that doesn’t mean they should see all rows, all columns, or all sensitive values. In this video, we break down three critical data visibility mechanisms used in modern data platforms: • Row-Level Security (RLS) • Column-Level Security (CLS) • Dynamic Data Masking To demonstrate those ideas in practice, we implement all three in a live demo using Microsoft Fabric. If you are designing or securing a data platform, these patterns are essential to understand. Security is not just about who can log in — It’s about what they are allowed to see.
